This recipe is from my Aunt June Contini….She has had this recipe since 1973, it is her mom’s recipe and it is pretty basic, or so I have been told. Now truth be told, I haven’t tried it yet,,,but it is one of my husbands favorites, so I will make them very soon! Just needed to share this recipe with you all, so here it goes!

So this recipe comes from my Aunt June…..Thank you !!!
This is how her mom Grandma Penny made it and I am pleased that Aunt June shared this recipe with me. Like I said before, my husband Chris does love these cookies, so for sure they will be in my oven sometime very soon!!
My son, Spencer and my husband, Chris!!
Spencer flew in from San Francisco a few days ago to spend some time with us and help us celebrate our 4th Anniversary!! I am so excited to spend some time with him!! …It always seems too long between visits, but I guess that’s what happens when your children grow up and “fly the coop!!”
Chris and I had to work for the first few days that spencer was here….but we were able to spend today
with him and we are looking forward to a great day tomorrow!…..
So, today we got up and went to breakfast at “A BREAKFAST PLACE” at Cardiff by the sea. No I’m serious….that’s the name of the place!! Neat right?
Well it is a nice little breakfast place….just a walk to the beach on the other side of Pacific coast highway. They have an outdoor deck to accomodate 7 or 8 tables, and a little space inside as well….I always love to sit out on the deck and get the sun when I am eating my breakfast there, it just feels so good!
Well the best suggestion I could give you is to try the veggie scramble, because that is what I usually get, although, Chris and spencer got the breakfast burritos and they looked wonderful as well! Really…this is just a cute little spot and well worth the trip!
Afterwards, we stopped into a second-hand shop to look for some Halloween Costume ideas…nope, no idea just yet…by we’ll keep looking!…well… while Chris and Spencer were still in the thrift store, I wandered over to this jewelry store next door and bought a white gold chain that I have been wanting for a long time so that I could wear my grandmothers heart pendant. I found just what I wanted!!! Oh how beautiful it looks!! Well perhaps I should explain….
Okay so in 1977, when i was seventeen, my Grandparents, (my moms parents we called them Nan and Gramps), were married for 40 years and were trying to decide how to celebrate there wedding anniversary ..my grandfather voted that they renew their wedding vows and Nan went along with the idea, not because she was sentimental but simply because she loved a good party and a wedding is no exception!!
Well anyway Gramps gave Nan a diamond necklace when he said “I do” on that day, and it was just a short time later that my Gramps passed away.
Nan lived for many years afterwards and always wore the necklace that her sweetie gave her….until the day she died actually, which is when my mom got it ….sadly with a broken chain. Well so now that it is our anniversary, well you get the picture!! I am so happy to tell you that I am wearing my necklace while I am writing this post!!! I am so excited to have the honor to be able to wear it!! I’m sure Nan and Gramps would be happy!
